OUTDOOR MURALS
This mural was painted on corrugated metal walls. It is on the Emerald Hills golf course in Arnolds Park, IA next to Lake Okoboji. It was designed to welcome visitors to the Iowa Great Lakes area. It was painted with Keim mineral paint, which does not fade.
I collaborated on this mural with Underground Art Studios in Cedar Rapids, IA. I really enjoyed working on a project that was so fun and creative! This was also done in Keim, which I almost exclusively use outdoors because of its durability.
I painted the Jackalope.

This mural was painted on aluminum panels and installed in a park honoring veterans In Chariton, IA. I did the portraits from a black and white photo. These 16 young men joined the Navy on the same day in 1942.
These photos are from opposite ends of a 145' retaining wall. It was painted to liven up the view from a retirement home medical facility.
This mural is on the side of a Mexican grocery store in Des Moines. I emulated the architectural style of this Mexican community. It is an invitation to come and enjoy what this area has to offer.
People often think this guy is real.
This is the west side of a Tasty Tacos building. They designed the exterior with five spaces for me to paint arched windows with beautiful Mexican scenes.
These are portraits of all of the family members who participate in the family business. Everyone was pleased with their likenesses.
These are life-sized military figures from WWI to the present day painted on an American legion building in Melcher-Dallas, IA.
The window image was painted on an insert and secured into an unused window opening. The space painted behind the figure is what the inside of the hall looks like.
This is Graziano Bros. Italian Grocery Store. This mural was in celebration of its 100th anniversary. It was designed to look like the store did in 1912.
This is a portrait of one of the founding brothers.
This mural is for the Italian-American Cultural Center of Iowa. It is 150' long and 15' to 20' high. It tells the story of Italian immigration to the United States.
This mural is on a flood wall in Jeffersonville, Indiana. It celebrates a local hardware store that ha been around for almost 100 years. The various figures are all of the owners from the begining until today.
This image is on the side of a garage in a private back yard. It was fun to do something cartoony, and who doesn't love "Where the Wild Things Are"?
This mural is in Pleasantville, Iowa. It is a tribute to a famous local sprint car driver.
This mural is on an American Legion Building. It includes all of the branches of the military and spans the full military history of the United States to the year it was painted.
